After upgrading to 4.8.0, when you click the BBO icon on your desktop, something different will happen. You will see what I mean.

On Tuesday I am going to a tournament for 12 days and we hope to release a new version to the general membership in late July or early August. Version 4.8.0 could be the last new version for a couple of weeks (but don't bet on this).

Thanks in advance to those of you who are willing to help us with testing. Let me know by e-mail (fred@bridgebase.com) if you find a problem and sorry in advance if I can't respond until after my tournament.

We have been working on improving GIB and, although the going has been slow, some good progress has been made in various (bidding) areas. Please note that this is an ongoing process.

New versions of GIBs that control the robots you play against in MB and MBTs will be launched within the next couple of days (they run on our servers).

If you currently rent GIB, and want to update to the latest version, use the following link, but please don't do this until AFTER you upgrade to 4.8.0 (via one of the links further down on the page).

Click here to update GIB (but not until AFTER you have upgraded to 4.8.0)!

The download for the new and improved GIB is over 2MB. This is why we are making it a separate download file (for now).

You can upgrade to 4.8.0 at:

or download everything (including all the latest files but NOT the latest GIB) at:

I suggest you use the first method, but however you do this, please make sure you exit the BBO program COMPLETELY before you start the download process.
