Scoring: MP

W - N - E - S
.. - .. -ps-1
1-X!-4-X
ps-4-5-ps!
ps-6-6-ps!
ps-X -ps-ps
ps

X!=4+
ps!= forcing

6 went for only 500 when we didn't find the lead, it scored a poor 35%, althou better than 6 wich is doomed on the obvious lead, 6 had a decent chance to make (or maybe RHO bids 7....)

Is the second forcing pass wrong?, should I take some action and bid 6 myself?

If you make one forcing pass, I believe the rest of the passes become forcing as well, no?

Anyway, after pard showed his long 2-suiter, a shot at 6 is probably better. Tech-wise (dbl fit, fillers, side aces) and also because in the field, few will find the 6 bid, so you're booked for a bad score if you dbl that.

I like your bidding as well as you partner's. Congrats to opps for bidding 6.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

I don't see what went wrong, aren't they about to set you in 6 on the king of clubs lead? You got a bad score because your opponents bid to 6.

East is on lead vs 6 Josh. But he should probably find the lead, though some would miss that lead.

Apart from that - opps did very well to save in 6's.

I think you should bid 6 instead of making a second forcing pass at MP, since you expect a bad score defending 5X. With your fit, suit and controls, 6 might actually be laydown.
Kind regards,
Harald

Touche, but it still hardly seems like a disaster. There is also a chance if you bid 6 of going down on a diamond ruff, so it's tough to blame them. On a better day they can get 800 from 6.

I like the NS bidding.

At the end South has an informed choice. Bidding on will be a shot since partner can surely not have two aces.

I would not criticise Soutn whatever decision he made, but personally in Pairs I would bid on.
