In which conditions (vul/scoring) would you open this 2 first seat? How about second seat?
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

How many cards is that?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

How many cards is that?

It is the modern style of presenting problems: You are allowed to take any card anway and make a descisson for the given hand.

So when you take away the ace, there will be still some juniors with a 2 wtp, where do you waiting for?

I will limit myself to: IF you take away any low card outside spades, I will open it in white at imps and in mps. Whe I play conserative pairs at mps, I would open it red/red too.
Kind Regards

Roland

If it is 6142 then I would open 2S unless unfavorable.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

yep, 6142, the club 3 was in plus.

I'd pass at unfavourable, or in second seat at game all.

2 always for me.

Vulnerable, I would certainly prefer a better suit than this, however, the 6-4 shape, and the outside Ace tempt me to bid.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

NV I open in first or second seat.

Vul it is marginal for me 1st seat. I like the extra distribution but hate the spade quality and minimum values. I might open All Vul I would not open Vul versus Not.

Vul 2nd seat it is too rich.

2S, except 3rd seat FAV (ill open 3S)

If you open 2S R/W its because you are clueless about vulnerability.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

I don't see the problem with opening 2S at any seat/vulnerability. Maybe the question is: do you open a weak 2 with a side 4 card suit?
Anyway, I say yes, always.

I'd open it too, but that does not say much, I am a junior. RvW I'd consider status of the match, position and opponents :).
