How do you play the double in the sequence:

1C 1D P 2C
X XX

If "values", how much extra does it show? Does it say anything about suit length?
Is it different if LHO bids: (1C) 1D (X) 2C; (X) XX?

This auction never happened to me. I do have a meta-rule for it, though. Rdbl is take out, so it implies a 4441 or 5440 shape, hence a very pure dbl.

I don't have any specific agreement here, which means that it is natural.
Most opponents will double 2 to show that they have a "real" club suit (5+, basically Kxxxx will do) and not just xxx. It is entirely possible that I hold AQxxx in clubs next to my diamond suit and that I want to suggest partner to play 2XX rather than 3NT or 5. After all, if he can make 2XX it is the best paying game. And since we have the balance of power there is a decent chance that it makes.

Years ago I had a hand where my partner (who was a much better player than me) opened a 14-16 1NT. I bid Stayman and it got doubled. My partner redoubled. I pulled since I had only a singleton club and we obtained the normal result in 3NT. If I would have passed, it would have been a party (and I am fairly sure it was IMP scoring) since partner had a six card club suit.

my meta rules for redoubles is that it invites you to pass now and double them when they run, this is no exception I guess.

Pass= minimum, not extra offense. 5332 is typical, or a 4 card suit if you overcall those ever. Also possible is having 3 small clubs, or any bad club holding really.

2D= minimum, interest in competing if they bid. 5422 for instance.

XX= generic game try. 2M would be natural showing 4

I prefer to play the same as Justin.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
