Against silent opps, P bids 1♠. Playing 2/1 gf, 1nt seems obligatory. P now bids 2♠. Where do we go from here and why? :unsure:

Tough problem. 3♥ shows at least another heart, and 4♥ could easily be our best game, but I'd bid 2N. The people who play opposite sound partners might bid 3, but if partner passes, I'll be very happy to make two.

I guess this hand is an argument for bidding ♠-♥-♠ with 6-4 and a 13 or 14 pt opener(one which would accept game invites).

On the given 2♠ rebid and the 2NT invite, opener can accept and also show exactly 3 hearts by bidding 3♥ enroute to the NT game.

Solve your problems a round earlier albeit with greater risk...Don't bid F1NT bid 2♥. Yes I realize it is a GF but at least you have 2 five card suits for a source of tricks and 2 aces. All of that makes 4♥, 3NT, or 4♠ a highly probable viable game.

1s then 2s can be pretty lite.

This is a very typical example of a tough hand for lite openers. You have 11 hcp....5h and no spade support. You must choose to live with this kind of problem or not.

I need a heck of alot more to gf with this. :)

2nt if soundish.

I'd bid 2H over 1S. Sure it might be a slight overbid but I want to try and get the nature of my 5-5 across. Any time partner has a weak NT with 3 hearts I definitely want to be in game so I don't want to create any problems starting with 1NT.

2♠ sounds rather minimum.
Nevertheless, I will almost always rebid 2NT (might depend, on state of match and colors): not really to play there, bit to give parter the option between 3 or 4 ♠. I don't really expect him to bid a 3 card ♥, but you never know......

well, wouldn't blaim, my partner if he passes. Yes, it is tough...
