I suppose I could have just overcalled 1NT... but when partner bid 3, I was feeling good about 3NT, despite the 19+ description of my hand...

A 1NT overcall would probably also confuse it, since GIB plays that as showing 16-18; with your 3 10's you could upgrade to 15, but that's about it.

GIB isn't showing extra HCP with its 3 bid, it's usually based on shape, as you can see.

I'm not a big fan of doubling with hands like that, where you aren't short in opener's suit and you have decent values there. But if you're going to double, you should just pass GIB's 3 bid. You have no extra values, and you're flat.

Oh well, that's unfortunate. 3N doesn't make anyway, with them pushing diamonds... Things aren't any better if I pass and it goes (1)-p-(3). I guess we're just screwed one way or the other...
