They probably can't. Can they do penalties or something?

The 5th set on its own, which isn't even over, has broken the time record for the longest recorded tennis match in history at over 7 hours.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

612 points in the 5th set and they're not even done yet. Unbelievable.

These are the break point stats from the entire match.

Break Point Conversions Mahut 1 of 3 = 33 % Isner 1 of 12 = 8 %

There were service breaks in both set one and two. Sets three and four were decided in tie breaks.

In the U.S. it is illegal to play tennis on grass - unless you live in California and have 59 prescriptions for 59 ounces from your doctor.

Well off the top of my head:
1) When Greg Cornelson scored four tries against the All Blacks in 1978.
2) Perhaps the under-arm bowling "incident" of 1981. Tsk - I hate sore losers.

I have to agree with 1) when an Australian team scores four tries in one match (or even season) it is amazing so it has to be pretty special when one Australian player matches that feat in one game.

But 2) I am not really sure is the same sort of amazing as this match. When I was in Melbourne recently my Australian friends certainly didnt talk of the under-arm bowling as amazing. The most amazing thing about the under-arm incident was that the batsman Brian McKecknie who was on the rough end of that controversy was the same man who kicked a penalty goal in the last minute against Wales in 1978 for the All Blacks to win after NZer Andy Haden controversially dived out of a lineout milking a penalty - that man (Haden) could have played soccer for Italy.
