3. Although I think it's quite good for it, I can't think of a call I prefer.

I though of 3 at the start, but thinking more deeply, we have side entries and a long suit that can be easilly stablished with ruffs, I think nothing below game will do this hand justice. 4 for me.

I am fine with a slightly heavy 3S. (Even if we can set up the hearts, what are we going to use them for? We already probably have no diamond losers and can ruff clubs...)

It appears that I grossly undervalued this hand...

What are your requirements to jump to 3 preemptive in comp at this vul? If you can still do it on trash then you have to shoot out 4 here (which really can't be trash at this vul). If 3 shows a bit of assets other than 4 trumps than I'd bid that. I think you lack a bit of overall strength to show a limit raise.

Could someone please explain in more detail why this hand is so good.

I have two tricks and will be ruffing 's, should I expect to be taking
tricks in hearts also?

4c support is nice (assuming 5cM), 6-4 shape is nice, onside AQ of diamonds is nice, but at the end of the day it's just a 6 count and your trumps are shite. I'll bid 3S. Alternatively playing fit jumps, I like 3H, which helps partner make the right decision here.

If you play pre-emptive jumps in competition (as most do), then this is a little ugly. You could try 2H or 3D?

A limit raise is typically three cover cards (cards that will likely cover partner's losers. Here, your diamonds are 2 covers, and the club shortness worth another one or two, likely. Your diamond doubleton might be worth something, and your spade length might be compressing partner's spade losers, too. This hand is worth way more than a simple raise of 1 to 2. I would give a cue-bid of 3D with your hand, or maybe just a jump to 4S.

Now what? Are you a believer in the Law, and planning on competing to 3 here?

If so, why not just get there now, and deny opps the opportunity to show a fit? Unless 3 promises something different in your partnership?

Of course, I may be way off base here.
Still decidedly intermediate - don't take my guesses as authoritative.
