Hi all,



IMPs. There were 10 tricks on the club king lead. Should West's pass over 4♠ be forcing? Assuming it is, should he have passed, and should East have doubled?

My view is that pass shouldn't be forcing and W should've bid 5♥ by himself.
As E I would pass 4♠ no reason to double it imo.
If pass is forcing then E has obvious double.

If West wanted to create a FP situation, he would have done something to create FP. The jump to 4H didn't.

But, my guess is you rated to beat that team in the match, anyway, and could afford to spot them the IMPs from the double on this hand.

South's action is a huge pet peeve.
