It doesn't show fewer than 4 losers. It shows fewer than 5 losers, which is a weaker hand.
I don't think that it is ever easy to bid slam on the basis of losing trick count. As an evaluation method its accuracy shines at the 2 - 4 level, where the precise location of losers tends to be less relevant as aspects that reinforce the potential of the hand and those which detract have a good chance of cancelling out.
It may still be right for GIB to bid slam on this hand, on balance of probabilities, but I would not call it easy.
