It also relates to people's lack of understanding about statistics and research in general. As always, there is an xkcd for that, even though I know one of you hates xkcd (was it cherdano or gwnn?)

I'll use my moderator fiat to provide a blanket pardon to anyone who posts xkcd links.

It's somewhat alarming that Ted Cruz retweeting porn is just about the only even remotely human action he's seemingly ever performed. It is sort of the perfect scandal for him, aside from learning that he is, in fact, a lizard person who dropped out of the primary to tend to his thousands of glistening eggs.

The reptile doth protest too much, methinks.

I have to agree with the White House on this one. ESPN's Jemele Hill should not have called Donald Trump a "white supremacist". The correct phrase would have been: "fu#$ing white supremacist!"

One of my staffers liked this post. We are conducting an internal investigation.

I have no doubt the staffer shall remain nameless and no one will be fired. It'd also be a weird coincidence if anyone involved in this incident had a striking resemblance to the victim's spouse, but that is neither here nor there, I suppose.

Derail: ESPN is like the Fox & Friends of sports. F them. The fewer clicks and impressions they get, the better off we all are. Seriously.

So someone help me out if I'm wrong. The bigliest negotiator compromised with democrats on terms to protect dreamers as long as a wall is built, and a wall being built is explicitly not one of the terms of the negotiation?

What sort of mental gymnastics will the right cook up to make sense of this?

It's Obama's fault.

It's all explained in Hillary's e-mails - if you can find them. ;)

Maybe one of the second amendment people can deal with her.

I had the same reaction when I read the various snippets from her book that made the news. But I actually enjoyed her interview with Ezra Klein on vox.com. It's nice to hear her talk pretty much unfiltered (after years of hearing complaints how "inauthentic" she is).

I enjoyed the interview that she did with Vox. It didn't play quite so well the second time when she gave precisely the same interview with Pod Save America.

From my perspective, the point that really needs to get driven home is what a god awful double standard there was in the press coverage of the two candidates, especially wrt the New York Times.
They have a lot to answer for.

This headline from the Daily Beast should cheer up everyone:

Quote

OOPS
Ann Coulter on Trump: I Bet on a Loser
While claiming she wasn’t conned, the conservative firebrand likened the president to a horse who “doesn’t win, place or show.”

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

Yes, I read some excerpts from this interview, but if this is supposed to inspire some sort of sympathy for her, I'd like to remind everyone she lost to Donald J. Trump. Consider where we are now and recognize that, at least on the metrics that matter in politics, she was less likeable than he was. She is an even greater American failure than the current administration.

And somehow she keeps popping up, everywhere, all the time. How is that possible?
