If partner opens after I have passed, should I jump to show my extra values with 10 or 11 points? I always seem to have a 4 (rather than 5 or 6) card major and a flattish hand (or I could bid 2c/d) and am nervous of jumping with only a 4 card suit.

Responding when you have already passed

No, you shouldn't automatically jump. Just respond 1M as normal, which doesn't deny having a maximum pass whatsoever. You can invite game on the next round if given a chance. Partner might have a sub-minimum opener, pass your response, then you can avoid getting too high. Also if partner bids only 1nt or 2M, with many 10 counts game is still remote and you should still pass.
