Once again GIB can't bid a major in response to takeout double.

- minor should deny major
- jump minor should probably be 6+ length in m at least

Also I looked at sequence on bidding table, it looks like jumps to 3H and 3S are defined simply as biddable suit, they should probably be something like 6+M and weakish?

I don't see much wrong with North bidding his longest suit. You'd double with Axx QJxx xx KJ10x too, right?

Agree that a jump over XX is better used to show a longer suit. Unless you think opponents have psyched the XX, North can afford to just go quietly with 2C even with the surprisingly large amount of high cards he has.

I do.
- I'm much more likely to make light takeout double on 4-4 in majors than 3-4.
- I'm much more likely to make takeout double offshape on some 4432 type of thing
- Even if clubs are better fit, spades is a level lower which might be enough compensation, also if you are in trouble IMO it is more likely that one of them chicken out and bid on over 1 level bid than over 2 level bid.
- Bidding spades is more conducive to competing to 2s over 2d if south stronger, maybe not applicable against robots who won't have psyched opening or redouble. Competing at 2 level in spade generally safer than competing to 3 level in clubs vul, opps more likely to take push, less likely to double you since they need 6 tricks against spades.

Majors should be bid ahead of minors unless really lopsided, 4-7 or something like that, or a really good 6.
