Hi all

What would be the best meaning for this redouble?

A. 1D...(2C)....p....p
....X....XX?

Would this be different?
B. 1D...(1S)....p....p
....X....XX?

Thank you
Kind Regards

It should show a good hand with a good suit and interest in competing further. Occasionally an adventurous overcaller will redouble with a bad hand where they fear LHO is about to pass for penalties, and they prefer to test opponent agreements and nerves.

Never done nor seen that redouble. I did, many years ago, have a pro player redouble after 1D (P) 2C (4H) P (p) x by me….and my partner did squirm before passing. +1600 was an even better top than +800 would have been: the pro had a 3H bid but was trying to bully us (I was 23 and my partner the club manager, a much older woman).

But I agree with the main part of your post.
