Funny auction

Had a funny auction in the regional.

RHO opened 1H and I Xed with 3244 13. LHO bid 1S, and partner Xed. RHO bid 2C, and I thought we might have them since i had ATxx of clubs. I Xed, and hoped pard could do something if he had a stiff. Even if he couldnt, it would be 180 or 280. LHO now bid 3C! He didnt even see my double. Partner passed, and I also passed. Making 4. LOL

I haven't had it happen at any higher level, but I've certainly seen this happen at the club level. RHO bids to the 2 level and I make a penalty double (obviously other bids or calls in between) and then LHO decides to raise partner. So instead of playing at the 2-level doubled, they've preferred to play at the 3-level doubled.

I remember also that opponents were thinking about bidding 5♥ and I was going to double them, but when they instead bid 6 I quickly passed.
