I'm stumped. When the robot opens 1NT and I have an 8-point balanced hand, how the heck do I invite him to bid 3NT? I thought I was reasonably able to understand robot bidding, but I'm missing this bit of knowledge. It says 2NT is a transfer bid. I have heard of using 2S as a 2-way bid, invitational to 3NT and a transfer to clubs, but the robot takes 2S as minor suit Stayman. I have hovered over the biddding box, and can't spot a way to invite to game.

Please enlighten me.

You bid 2C Stayman, and then bid 2N over any response partner makes. (No there is no reason you should know this without being told.)

Thanks. I'd never have thought of that.

You have to do the same nonsense with a good number of human partners too :)
It's the consequence of assigning both 2NT and 3 to artificial bids without inserting a Range Ask in 2.

Pinpointing declarer s distribution usually sucks but when bots are on lead and defend it is not such a big deal :D
