New partner, but have some idea of his style since I've been playing against him in these TG's

Partner is unbalanced with primary clubs while we have AKQTx, and the opponents can only compete to 2. Interesting deal.
I'm interested in slam, but I need to know if I need to protect the K. What are your continuations? Stopper bidding, or controls now that clubs have been set? Did 3 promise 6 or can it be a 5-card suit?

I think it is more interesting than jillybean may appreciate when we consider what pass and double of 2 should be. I guess traditionally double is penalty when there is interference in a 2/1 auction and pass is forcing with nothing to say.

So does 3 have to show 5+ clubs when partner has promised five? Wouldn't you like to show that you have a 9-card fit especially when you do not have a heart stop?

I think this hand is a clear pass followed by 3, but I can see the temptation.

However I think 3 is the clear bid now as I've no real idea what to do and it may help. Over 3 I continue with 3NT.
The Beer Card

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

Not sure what 3C shows, but I have shown 5C and then a balanced hand with a h stopper.
Partner can pull to 4C or (4D KB.)

Agree that is a pass over 2H, pard can't have that.

More imagination?

I am having cereal and juice for breakfast then seeing Toy Story movie. at ten am.

Then playing bridge for the first time with a new partner at Three.

That exceeds my imagination quota for the week.

Tough questions, and I don't have the answers since this is not an established partnership. 2 was gf with 5-6 clubs so 3 is 4(3)+

You can assume/hope 3 is an ask.

MJ hopefully not juice on your cereal, enjoy Toy Story and good luck with new pard.
