FYI

I removed the recent link to "Nice documentary about banking system"
The hosting site had a violently anti-something agenda.

Interesting. Good thing that I watched it yesterday as it was reasonably informative, didn't promate hate of anything except greed and debt and didn't provide any obvious links or redirects to the source-body in question.

Good thing this forum doesn't direct us to the USBF..... :(

I thought the documentary was interesting but I don't know enough about economics to know if:

1) It was complete BS
2) The "banking facts" were not BS, but the rest of it was fearmongering

And I don't know enough about racist propaganda to know if:

3) It was nothing more than a slick video made by racists in which the racial overtones were not completely blatant (and may not even exist)

So I am not qualified to offer an opinion on the video itself other than to say that I am glad I watched it.

The decision we made was not about the video. Like Uday I did not want to allow a link from a Bridge Base web page to the site that hosted the video.

Similarly, we would have removed a link to a porn site even if it contained an interesting bridge hand or a link to a pure bridge site if we knew that visitors' computers might be harmed.

Hey Fred, Uday

Did you guys ever read Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"?

The part about the Golgafrinchams' (they were the marketing specialists and phone sanitizers that were sent away from their planet on a rocket ship that crash-landed on the earth in prehistoric times.....) instauration of a monetary system based on tree leaves.

It makes more sense and might be more equitable than our current system...lol

Should all the links to www.ipetition.com be taken down too? As a site supported by Google Ads there can and will be direct links from time to time to sites either providing or in turn being sponsored by sites that provide adult-related products and services.
Disclaimer: The above post may be a half-baked sarcastic rant intended to stimulate discussion and it does not necessarily coincide with my own views on this topic.

David,

Why don't you go read 1000 petitions from that site and let me know how many ads you see for adult-related products?

If the number crosses a certain threshold which is a secret known only to members of the BBO Censorship Committee, I promise we will remove all the links. Our Censorship Committee does provide guidelines for what constitutes an acceptable adult-related product. For example, Viagra is OK with us but most types of inflatable sex dolls are not.

Not interested? You mean you are only interested in wasting other peoples' time?

What links to allow is a judgment call on the part of the moderators and no doubt some bad calls will be made on occasion. Sorry if we delete an innconent post once in a while. Hopefully the other 240,000 or so posts that have not been deleted will provide you with enough reading material.

When google ads start ranting about how "insert fav. target here" are out to get us, I'll get rid of references to sites that use them . Until then, they're safe enough.

FWIW that video on money is on youTube and relatively easily found elsewhere if you look for sites on dollar devaluation, housing bubble, or Ron Paul. Anyone who missed it can still find it so deleting the link to one particular hosting of the show is not a problem.

OK. I am curious. What type of inflatible sex doll is BBF-approved?

I hope, and I really do pray, that there are no sex dolls out there that resemble famous bridge players.

I got the link that I posted from a reddit submission. I couldn't have told you what site it was on or what else was on the page. I'm so used to filtering ads and fluff on webpages that I don't even notice anymore. I hadn't seen that particularly documentary before and it had a couple of nice segments that I hadn't seen in other similar documentaries. Like others have said, YouTube or google video has a bunch of similar documentaries.
