Congrats to all forum-guys who qualified :)

I didn't see the auction but aren't almost ALL Dbls for TO?!

EDIT: Just saw the hand: I guess it's a matter of agreement. It also depends what hands could have bid earlier, i.e. what do you do with reasonable minor-oriented hands?

Anyway, no one will ask in two months time about this hand. If it's so close between two pairs, one can say that either deserved to qualify.

Yes well done to those who qualified.

Do any of the players have any comments that they would like to make about having a trial online. Were there any upsides or downsides that might not be obvious to outside observers.

in my opinion the dbl is by default take out

two extra reasons in this case: obviously partner had no t/o double available with no 4 spades and obviouly the one who passed hat 3 hearts.

but playing trials in MP scoring you will see lots of results like this

Add that to someone who has been seeing the barometered results for the rest of the round, and felt that qualifying was a lock. Now you get an 'oh-whatever' reaction and an instant lazy pass. We will never know that had I pulled, whether we would have been doubled. Three clubs undoubled, for seven tricks, would have been an average. Cameron and Adam could have qualified by doubling that anyways.
