Win the Diam Ace.
You can pitch 2 Diam losers if the Cl finesse works and they split 4-3
and the other diam loser on the 3rd round of Hts.

I choose to go down quickly by ducking the ♦lead in dummy. The alternative requires the ♣ finesse and 43 clubs as well as no 62 ♥ to get 3♦ discards unless I am too foggy to see straight.

Run the diamond.
They might well choose an attacking lead on this auction. If the ♦6 is a doubleton, East has KJ108x and possibly a spade honour and didn't overcall. Depending on opponents lead methods, the lead could be from J86, 1086, 8642 without the king, or KJ86(x), K1086(x), KJ6, K86 with the king. So there are more holdings with the king. Against good opponents I'd say it's better than 50% West has the king.
Otherwise you need the club finesse. It's probably ok if clubs are 5-2 because they'll usually ruff with a trump trick. Still this is less than 50%.

Would this be a good hand for transfer rebids after 2NT? If South shows 6-4 in the pointed suits, North is might work out that his 10xx and Ax aren't quite what is needed.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

South should definitely just bid 4♠ over 2NT. Practically taken, she needs 4 key cards and the ♦K from partner for a start, or it would be some finessing thing at best.

Good point on needing 4 key cards AND the ♦K.
I reserve 4♣! as Gerber over the 2NT rebid.
But if it were RKC-Gerber for Responder's suit, that would tell you immediately about any missing key cards.
If he showed 4 key cards ( 4♥! ), you still wouldn't know about the ♦K... with no way to find out about it.
So just an immediate 4♠ bid seems most prudent.
