Scoring: MP

1C 1D 1S 3C
3S 3N P ?

3C showed a mixed raise: 5-9 support, 4+ diamonds.

yes, this hand will play much better in diamonds than 3N. This hand looks way too good for a mixed raise to me.

Maybe I should make a slam try as my hand is much stronger then described, but 5 Diamond should be enough for a decent score.
Kind Regards

there is a big wastage in spades. If partner has a good double stopper such as AQx or AJ10, and diamonds run we have 8 tricks and a tempo to develop 9th or 10th.

It is easy that 3NT outscores 5.

However my partner's bid 3NT with Kxx and AKQxx. 3NT is a lucrative gamble, but 5 is probably safer.

if 3 is only 5-9 with no other stronger option 4 now seems to describe pretty well.
