Hi there!

Few days back we started a topic at our local bridge site forum, about something that was clear cut to me. Unfortunately, as it stands, it is far from it, as the "scary thing" divided opinions even between some of the strongest Croatian players.

1) So, what do you rebid after opening 1 and partner's 1NT as nat with 5440?

2) Any difference if you have 12 or 19 HP?

3) How do you rebid 5044?

4) Any difference if MP or IMP?

THX
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

If you mean 5=4=4=0 then 2 it is
If you mean 5=0=4=4 I don't have strong feelings, although I tend to bid 2

If we have 19HCP we won't bid at 2-level, unless playing Gazzilli ofcourse...

2H always with 5440. 2C with 5044 unless you are strong enough to move over a minimum rebid, then bid 2D (like 16+).

Agree.

And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

With hearts, always rebid 2H. With 4-4 minors, 2C unless disparity with suit quality AKJx diamonds versus xxxx clubs makes you decide to bid diamonds. I am usually a "shape bidder" so normally 2C with 5=0=4=4.
