we don't have soccer thread that I know of, the reason is probably because our teams are wide spread in different local leagues (to each country), and never meet each other, so not much to talk about. I couldn't tell a single name of a name from Csaba's team, and I doubt he knows more than 1 of mine. Similar with the germans, I have no clue on who is doing a good season there.

I'm sorry, I thought the World Cup was soccer. I must have it confused with real football.

If it's "real" football, how come the goalie gets to use his hands?

Chicago (Bulls) +6.5

Arizona (Wildcats) +2.5

Auburn (Tigers) +14

Basketball qualifies as "or not" real football.

My team: Atletico, won 5-1 on the cup, they had lost on the initial match 3-0 against the second division team, but they got a fantastic recover.

It was a great match showing how we Atletico's like things to be done, we scored the 4-0 and there was still 30 minutes left, it was too easy, so a player decided to play the ball in his own area, losed it and they scored 4-1. 2 minutes later the very same guy made a stupid tackle and was sent out (in soccer you are sent out forever an there is no replacement, you play with 1 less guy).

So after some minutes of agony we scored again on a free-kick and had to overcome their rush in the last 10 minutes, just the way we always do it :P

Auburn smoked some seriously strong ganja at halftime. Probably bought it from those UT players who got arrested. At least I had Seton Hall/Georgetown over, Detroit (NCAA) +7, and Wisc-GB +7. If St. Mary's can cover the 4 against the Zags I'll have my first profitable day in quite some time. Go Gaels!

Sports, sports, sports. Woof!

We once debated what you would want your son to try to play professionally.

Hockey, no way, no teeth
Football, American style, end up in a wheelchair
Golf, you make nuthin unless at the top

The winner, elected by 4 drunk guys was left-handed baseball relief pitcher. Best seat for the games eating hot dogs in the bullpen, face 3 or 4 batters a week for at least a triple digit salary.

Mixed doubles specialist in tennis came second.

Because even a mediocre mixed doubles tennis player makes millions?

Atletico fan? So you must have a hard time during the last years where aother teams had more success.

Isn't that the team where the famous Gilles y Gilles had been president? Is he dead, in jail or still major?
Kind Regards

Roland

Gil y Gil died about 5 years ago. His son is part of the stuff though.

He went to jail in the 60s or 70s but Franco put him out.

When he became major in Marbella he pissed off the big politic parties, they don't like to share any piece of the cake with any other. And they pursued Atletico in punishment to the point to get an intervention on the team, and set a functionary as president. We went to second division due to that awful management for a couple of years :S.

But anyway Atletico doesn't matter as much as having to deal with all the fucking Real Madrid fanatics everywhere in Spain, they are so fucking arrogant.

The worse thing is that over the years, the supporters of the team who always wins are the ones who buy the daily's, so the daily's start to talk mostly about the team who only wins, and so the daily's are only bought even more by the team who always wins, and so on. Then the television started to do the same.

It is more important as a new if Cristiano Rolnaldo went to the hair cutter than if some guy from Racing the Santander broke his knee and has to retire for the rest of his life, I hate this so very very much.

no way are Real Madrid fans more arrogant than Barca fans?

last night at the party I wanted to catch a falling glass but I broke 3 other glasses and spilt my own beer. I saved the first one.

If you were a Government and the falling glass was a policy decision, you would proclaim it as a major victory -- while suppressing information about the associated devastation caused to other policy matters.
