Not sure what you are asking here. Are you asking whether i would take any action holding these hands? If so, the answer is "No", certainly not, and this is not even a close decision with either hand. I am really surprised that you would even ask this Csaba. Did someone take a bid with these in the Spingold and get a good result? :)

I think I remember that happening, but getting justifiable comments on Vugraph. I don't think anything great happened when they did these things. There were a number of instances I watched, where the competition overstepped but were rescued by equally questionable actions on the other side.

assuming you do something stupid like make a -X and the auction continues....(P) 2 (P), what does the 2 call show and are you now calling 3. Or the auction continues after the -X .....2(sp) 2NT (P) what does the 2NT call show and are you ready for it? IMO your best choice is pass and is clear.

On the second hand I am inclined to pass as well

Hi,

#1 Pass.
#2 3C, but Pass is certainly mainstream.

i'm sorry but it doesn't matter what you do. i doubled and bid 3 respectively but it had no real effect.

in the first hand they had a lot of points and bid and made 4 for a bad board for us.

in the second hand my partner chose to bid his 4 card spade suit as if it was a 6 card suit and we made 4 for an awesome board.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
