Holding A7.A52.AQT63.KQ2, GIB bids
1d-(1s)-dbl-p;
2d???

which is described as 4+ d, 12-22, missing game. Think this bid should be limited, show 5+ diamonds, and rebid 2nt with this?

I suspect it wants a better spade stopper than Ax to bid 2NT, and a 6th diamond to bid 3. With Axx you can hold up twice and then hope to keep LHO off the lead, but Ax is a problem. An even tougher bidding problem would be if it held xx AKx AQT63 AQx. Same 19 HCP, but no spade stopper at all.

Human players would probably use a 2 cue bid in either case to show a big hand needing help in spades, but GIB doesn't know about western cues.
