Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Err, I'd probably panic and double, I only really need the AK of spades for the grand slam to be good 50/50 so that probably isn't strong enough.

Edit: 4 spades makes sense yeah.

If I can't show my two-suiter I will try 4. But it is not a very satisfactory bid. I prefer it to double, though.

if partner has singleton spade we belong to 6, but how to find?

I like 3, if partner raises voluntarilly we have a good shot at 6, we might be able to show clubs next. And if partner does something that smells like short spades we can bid 6

By bidding 4, showing spades and a minor? If partner doesn't bid 4, there is a good chance that he has a singleton spade - with Hx he would tend to choose 4.

I'd bid 4, planning to pass 4 but bid 6 over anything else.

Edit: on reflection, a singleton spade probably isn't enough if partner has only three clubs. They may lead a trump, which is often right against this sort of sequence; or the hand with two spades may have three clubs and make a trump trick; or spades may be 4-1. I think we should settle for game.

4H WTP, Michaels are a necessity not a luxury.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Sure, 4H! as Michaels works well over a 3H preempt, but what about over a 3S preempt ( It takes you to the 5-level in )?

That is why someone came out with 4C! and 4D! as = that minor and the other major.

And over a 3-minor preempt :
... 4C! = other minor and a major (4D* asks major)
... 4D! = both majors

What Two4bridge said. Non-leaping Michaels is a necessity these days.

From memory the 2 or the 3.

Gwnn, playing with an average partner i would expect 4H to show S and a minor. Surely this is standard? In my regular partnership I would bid 4C Non Leaping Michaels.

Fwiw nothing is any good at all. LHO has the oustanding 13 black cards and partner has 6 hearts and AKQJxxxx in Ds
Yes it was a goulasch. I don't know why I bother playing in these.

Thats why i dont only play them, but also skip the topics about them. It is like trying to make sense out of nonsense.

"It's only when a mosquito lands on your testicles that you realize there is always a way to solve problems without using violence!"

"Well to be perfectly honest, in my humble opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view, but also by looking into this matter in a different perspective and without being condemning of one's view's and by trying to make it objectified, and by considering each and every one's valid opinion, I honestly believe that I completely forgot what I was going to say."
