Reading this thread again I notice that I wrote that I could understand 2C. Now I can't, the hand is too strong.

Ummm, 7-5 hand with the 7 card being solid is WAY too good for a simple 2♣ imo

Rebidding 2C must be a joke, or maybe it's walter the walrus. I mean, true, it's almost 100 % partner will be bidding again given the opps silence when I have 1 major suit card, but what are we gaining by starting with an underbid? Yeah it's possible reversing gets us too high opposite a complete misfit 15 count or something but it's much more likely that 2C gets us too low opposite a couple of useful cards and the same type of point count.

I am going to bid 2C. This hand is not worth a reverse in terms of high card strength. I hope to be able to show the shape later in the auction. I also don't like 3C.
im sorry but this is an outrageous underevaluation in my opinion.

Any hand with a diamond fit becomes enormous, how can a 2C rebid be right ever.

Come on Ron, it's a 3-loser hand. The only way to have pard have any idea of our hand is by bidding 2D+3D.
Totally agree, too many people focus just on points. I'd prefer to have better diamonds but I've been dealt a 7-5 and the opposition (so far) are silent so this is what I'm doing.
So after 2d and 3d over the assumed 4th suit forcing (to game) from pards, that should show 6-5 and maybe if I rip 3nt (or 3 of a Major) to 4♣ I'll show the 12th card in my hand. Since my void is in his best suit I'm not concerned that he has 6 or 7 of them as I have AKQ to seven of my own.
My question would be after if after 3♦ it goes 3♥ 4♣ 4♠ (you showing the 7th ♣ him 6+5+ majors) is 4nt to play? maybe showing a 0157 shape/

You also said it was too pessimistic, which I agree with. I assumed you meant you wouldn't hang partner for bidding 2♣, but maybe there's been a retrial
