They were about to play 2♥ and your partner pushed them to 3♥. Don't punish him for his action, follow the above advice and pass.

Second choice would be 6 ♦. If I wish to make a stupid call, I may well choose one which will score really well if it works.

easy heh. If partner first pulls out the 3♦ card before saying oops and replacing it with a double, does it make your call any easier?
