Just played a 12-board team match where each board was exciting :) Felt like one of those teaching tourneys where you know there's a catch for each deal.

I particularly liked this one. I think opps could have set - a better timing in clubs would have blocked the trump coup but it was nice to watch the play unfold nevertheless:

Indeed, 3 rounds of clubs followed by a diamond switch defeats 4 of either major. The mistake your defence made was to make you ruff a diamond, allowing you to shorten your trumps which you couldn't have done unaided. 3 rounds of clubs defeats the contract at that stage.

Neither should make, both can make with some help from the defence, 5♣ can also make.

East knew 95 % + their partner had a trap pass so I doubt it was that shocking.

There are trap passes and there's AKQ1098, KJ98xx and some working cards would have been what E was hoping for.
