There seem to be a couple of holes in GIB's analysis:

  • In Robot Duplicate, GIB doesn't seem to know the human player has the best hand
  • If a player frequently places bids that differ from his system (e.g. one point less than the system range of his bids) GIB doesn't adjust

Wish list: I'd like to be able to specify a complete GIB system. Time to let the modding community loose on GIB!

Human having best hand in best hand tourneys is kind of a twisted form of the game, I wouldn't want efforts made to get GIB to know that, it would make the code extremely ugly and not really applicable to real life bridge. The second thing though I agree needs to be worked on, especially on defense. Sim best result given normal bidding, then also calculate results with looser constraints. There's no reason to choose randomly between "equal" options given tight constraints, when a clear winner emerges when the human might have lied on HCP or distribution.

You really don't want to see the language used to define bidding rules. It's horrible.

And we don't have the resources to field questions from users on it. It would be way over the head of our regular tech support people, so only our programmers would be qualified to answer them.
