I can't stand opening 2C on 2-suiters, never mind 3-suiters, but I don't see how you can do anything else on this hand.

With 5 hearts you don't waste nearly as much space opening 2 as you do with other hand types (unless you play some stupid system like 2 response shows 0-1 controls or whatever), so yeah, 2 opener here. I'll have a similar rebid problem after 2-2; 2-2, but I'll have shown my strength.

I'm thinking my rebid might actually be 3, then I can bid 4 over 3NT more economically.

My main worry with a 2 opener is a 2 response.

A two loser hand with 8 controls cannot be a 1 opening. If even I open 2 then this must be a wtp question

If you play the 2C-2 D-2H is a relay thing you are pretty well positioned after 2C-2D-2H-2S-3C no?

I would open 2, and then bid 2 natural. We play that 2-2M/3m is weak and to play vs a 20-21 NT. If partner bids 2, I will bid 2NT, which is forcing. If partner rebids 3 I will bid 3NT, if partner bids another suit I will raise and if partner bids 3NT/4 I'll pass.

If I opened 1 and partner responds 1 I'll bid 2 as Gazzilli, and if that is not available I'll bid 3.

Where's the 'I play strong 1, ha!' option?

Good for Fantunes and Groovers.
