auction was 1N by opp 2♣ by me , distracted so thought Cap, but with this partner I play as unspecified major 1 suiter. I realised mistake immediately and alerted as maj 1-suiter
director called I informed him I misclicked. more correct would be I misbid.
director said I should have informed opponents I misclicked
is that right? I didn't think their entitled to that info just meaning of bid made

OTOH, online "bridge" doesn't always follow the laws, and "rulings" are much more based on the opinion of the TD than on any formal rules.
As for tv, screw it. You aren't missing anything. -- Ken Berg
I have come to realise it is futile to expect or hope a regular club game will be run in accordance with the laws. -- Jillybean

This doesn't sound like a misclick at all.

True but tfor hese purposes assume misclick since that's what director was telling me what I should have done based on.
your welcome to say director should have told to do such and such if was misbid.
not sure what I was thinking at time, was speedball might have thought it was major suit opening suit opening and was trying to make 2♦ overcall and hit 2♣ then realised opening was 1N so gave alert. all very confusing a) speedball , b) I was using windows program which im not used to

I think you should have just lived with your mistake.

That's what he did, wasn't it? While some online tourneys require you to alert misclicks, acbl does not do so. Steve explained the agreed meaning of 2♣ and that's fine.

Opponents were playing systems on over 2♣ and fortunately partner didn't try to find out my major. So opp had a clean auction to a normal contract and play normal, so no damage was done. There was just puzzlement at why I didn't have a major
