Hi,
I know that when we export hands from BBO we get a URL that has the hand record in URL itself and hence the hand record is permanent. That is very good feature.
However, when we go to a hand from a tournament history, then the URLs we get there are of different structure. They are like http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-3192794530-1580644538 . Such URLs are don't work after some time.
Can we do something to get permanent URLs in these cases too?
Thanks,
Mukesh

Most important I think are the .lin files of tournament hands which are available in the old bbo format. These include the actual trick by trick play of the hands as you played them. They are invaluable for self study to learn where you made your mistakes. The .lin files can be downloaded the BridgeSolver test alternate ways to play the hand.
The URL hands, as far as I can determine, lack this feature. For this reason I will stick to the old bbo format to its dying beath.

The .lin file is really just a text file. You can extract the text and put it into a handviewer URL.
If you open it in a text editor and put
https://www.bridgeba...iewer.html?lin=
at the beginning, you get a permanent URL.

But from the link format I mentioned in my first post we don't have any option to export either to LIN file or any other, isn't it?

Which tournament history page were you referring to?
If you go to History -> Recent Tournaments, select a tournament and a hand, then use Export -> Handviewer Link, the tinyurl link contains the full LIN string, not the abbreviated myhand=M-3192794530-1580644538 format.
So I thought you were getting it from your tournament history in www.bridgebase.com/myhands.

You are right. I am able to get LIN file now.
I was referring to the actual "myhand=M-3192794530-1580644538" format page. That page doesn't have an option of exporting to LIN. But yes, the "myhands" page does have a way to download LIN file.
