I set my most recent tournament (as vebu207596)for 18 boards in 9x2 board rounds. Tourney #85589.
Used the string +howell+ +Rounds9+ in description.
Had 7 full tables (14 pairs) and was somehat surprised to find we were playing 13x1 board rounds and not the 9x2.
Was the upper case R the problem? If not then why default to a full Howell of only 13 boards?

Unless someone with more experience says otherwise, I imagine you guess right: at least some of these strings are case sensitive, and if you had said "+rounds9+" I would expect it to work.

We fixed this sometime last year. They're all case-insensitive now.

If you have 7 full tables, 14 pairs, each will have to play against 13 other pairs, so that's why 13x1.

But as discussed in the other thread, the +rounds9+ overrides "full Howell". Except that (at the time, it doesn't now) +Rounds9+ wasn't the same as +rounds9+ and was ignored.
