Scoring: IMP

(1) - X - (1) - 2
(P) - ?

What is your plan in the bidding from here? Is it time to blast 5 (or 6?) clubs or do you want to involve partner in the decision? If the latter, how do you plan to get that information from p?

3D, splinter. I see no need for a blast.

I like 3D. 2D shows a strong balanced hand, 3D should be splinter. And pd will know what to do. If he bids 3N, I think I will pass.

3 seems fine to me (although it has the problem of allowing LHO a cheap double). If there's a chance this particular pard won't understand 3, then I'll try a shot at 5.

I also like 3D. Or possibly 4D, showing a void and slam ambition (after all, xx xxx xxxx Kxxx makes slam a just about OK contract).

I don't like 2S which I think should possibly be natural.

I dropped the ball a bit on this one and made the uninspired call of 2 later blasting 5 which made on the nose, although an overtrick was there for the taking.

Partner held:

10xx
KJxxxx
Q10xx

Why he made a free bid of 2 I'm not sure. RHO did compete to 3, but my 5 ended the auction.

Welcome back Frances.

Yup, 2 on this sequence sounds natural.
