BBO is split into 2 parts
- The main part with the modern interface
- The Solitaire part with the different interface
In the Solitaire Just Play Bridge (Free) part, there seems to be bug. I had sound turned off in the main part settings & that would turn off sound effects in the Solitaire part also. But for the last couple of days, I seem to get all the sound effects while playing Solitaire, Just Play Bridge (Free) & I can't find anyway to turn it off other than muting it in the Browser itself - note again that I have Sound settings turned off in the Main Part.

It's been 3 days & no one has even replied to my bug report.
Previously atleast Barmar used to reply claiming it's a feature & not a bug, but now even that is missing.
Support here has gone to the dogs.

I'm running into extreme distribution issues and overly aggressive bidding by my robot partner, to the point where my partner is, in fact, setting me.

Sorry for the delay in answering you.
The settings inside the solitaire games are separate from the main settings you find in the Account area. Long ago, before the pandemic, they used to be synched, like you mentioned -- however at some point we did something to scale up the platform and it resulted in this disconnect between solkitaire settings and the rest of the main application settings.
We'll improve this in one of the next upgrades. We realize it can be confusing to have different sets of settings while logged in BBO.
