3♣ opening is a possibility, but maybe a touch light at equal vulnerability, otherwise 1♦-2♣ is weak for me followed by 2♦. I would pass with a singleton ♣

Looking at these hands again and counting possible tricks playing an unbalanced ♦.
1♦-2♣ 6 weak
2N-3N
could work here, but you may end up struggling if North has more of a six pointer.

2♦ or 3♣ depending on which seat I was in. It is not reasonable to reach 3NT on a misfitting 23 in MP (unless you are Meckwell perhaps).
To the OP, mw6 was saying that if the South hand had had a singleton club, he would pass after 1♦ - 2♣. Then in the next post pushing on to game while holding a club void! Bridge is an easy game DD.

3♣ (on pescetom's sequence) or 3NT (after 3♣ opening), depending on my agreements.
I don't want to be in 3NT, but I bet I bid it if partner opens.
