Anyone familiar with Modified BART.
I know Galvin Wolpert plays it and says it is pretty standard at the top levels of bridge.

I have some notes from him but they are not clear.

I understand the older basic version of BART
1S-1nt
2c-?

In particular it seems he also plays it after
1h-1nt
2c-?

There are several variants. I play different methods with the two partners with whom I play Bart. Both are ‘modified’

As an example, we play, in both, 1S 1N 2D 2H as a puppet to 2S, allowing a 2S bid to be constructive. I’ve been reluctant, not wishing to lose a natural, weak 2H bid but so far, so good

Trying to understand how it works.
Am told common at top levels including Levin/Weinstein

Apparently is quite different from traditional BART

These may be of use.

Bart (modified)

If you are looking to be able to stop in then transfers can also help.
After 1-1N NF
2 a) , b) 52x4, c) strong
2 a) , b) strong
2 a) 6 b) strong
2 5sx4
2N 18-19
3 6xx4 INV
3 6x4x INV
3 64xx INV
3 63xx INV

After 1-1N-2
2 preference short
.. 2 52x4
2 5+ short at most 2
2 preference
2N 1525 INV

If you combine with the Ambra like switch of & then
1-2 5+ 10+ or 6+ 8-10

The transfer approach also means that strong hands are now shown after preference starting at 2N e.g.
After 1-1N-2-2
2N 5422 or 6322
3 54(31)/5404
3 63(31)
3 55xx
3 64xx
3N 5440
