1♥-1♠
1NT-2♣
2♦-?
2♣=crowhurst
2♦=minimum
Responder now bids:
2♥=3c♥, non-forcing (invite hand)
3♥=3c♥, GF
What is the advice on the number of Spades that responder should have?
4c♠ searching for 4-4 fit;
OR any 5c♠;
OR good 5c♠ searching for light slam, ...?

I think that a 2H rebid should promise only two hearts and should deny a fifth spade. With a 5-2 I'd rather play 2M than 2N. If responder has 5 spades and 2 hearts, he'd preference spades.
I personally don't like to introduce four spades when I have a heart fit and only like to introduce 5 spades (when I have a heart fit) when I have game invitational values or better. That way, If I bid 1S and later GF opposite a minimum hand, I'm showing five spades.

I assume you're playing a 4 card major system. I think responder should have a 5th spade when he rebids 2♥, but isn't promising a 5th spade when he rebids 3♥. This is assuming a style where you bid 2♥ with 6-9 and 3 card support.

Assuming 4+crd spades and 3crd hearts:
With a weak hand and support you show that asap (don't bid spades)
With an inv+ hand you bid spades first and support later
All natural:
1♥-1♠
1nt-?
2♥ = inv
3♥ = GF
Don't know what you need Crowhurst for...
With 3crd spades opener can bid them now and reveal the possible double fit
