Has GUBBO shown its hand for me to bid cold 7C? Surely could have asked for key cards.
"Points" are 15-22. Would you take a chance?

It should be cue bidding over 4c not jumping to slam or BW.
On the other hand, holding 3 cd spade support, it would have been much better for you to simply 2/1 in clubs then set spades as trumps then ask keycards, you'd be in control and avoid this sequence, and find about the spade KQ which a club key card ask isn't going to locate.

3 level SJS are awkward, both you and GIB should be more selective about deploying them.

Did consider 2/1 (and therefore bid 3H splinter) but figured I want to play in clubs just in case spade break is bad (4-1). I can never find out about spade J.
S oI took the safer option.
Had I known GUBBO cant handle 3 level SJS I would have gone for 2/1.

But lack of cue bid is amazing. At least I got to 6 is all I can say.

Gib has no clue how to bid slams, this isn't even close to worst example. At least it makes, have seen it jump to 6 or 7 off cashing setting tricks.

Worst sequence i had was 2-2-2-6N ridiculous!
With 7N being good and 7 100%.barring a ruff on opening lead.
On a really bad day 6N might even go down <gack>

Sarcasm is a state of mind

Slam bidding with GIB, IMO is mostly a total random affair.
Both the methods and the robot "judgement" is beyond horrible.
Always feels like Russian roulette when the dummy comes down.
And no way to tell beforehand what sequence will lead to success --- only afterwards (looking at other tables) you will know...

Btw, that 3 bid (holding 5s)... is that really part of the soloway method?

Seems there's a couple of different ways of playing it (one where opener just artificially bids the next step up), but yeah, this is the other, where a new suit just shows good honours (eg http://kwbridge.com/js.htm ). No point just bidding a 5 card suit that can't possibly be trumps.

Actually mostly I have been successful bidding slams with GUBBO EXCEPT for the insane jumps.
