I really doubt that partner will play me for such a good playing hand at favourable, so I am itching to bid 4♠. I would definitely do so in 1st or 3rd, but being in 2nd causes me to pull back in just a tad and opt for the conservative 3♠ call. 7141 is not in the same family as, say, 7231 or 7132.

3♠ is fine for me, 2♠ or pass is not.

If we preempt I prefer 3S, even W/R.
If partner does have values 1S seems by far the most constructive and we have a much better chance of evaluating NT and diamonds.
